Household Hazardous Waste Disposal

household_wasteBecause we operate a "sanitary landfill," no hazardous waste is allowed to enter the landfill. We have inspectors that do random checks for household hazardous waste that is entering the waste stream multiple times each day. Keeping household hazardous waste out of our landfill is not only a legal requirement; it also protects the local environment, water supply, and the health and safety of our employees.

If you have household hazardous waste in your home, please separate it and bring it to the Logan Landfill Household Hazardous Waste Facility. Most hazardous materials do not have a fee for disposal for residential customers. Commercial customers must dispose of their own hazardous materials.

If a container is empty, unless the packaging states otherwise, it can go out with your regular trash. Please do not dump chemicals or pills down your drain.

There are several drop sites throughout Cache County for proper medication disposal. Contact the Bear River Health Department for more information about drop sites. They can be contacted by using the information at this link: Contact Bear River Health Department
